Pont-l’Évêque is one of Normandy’s oldest cheeses.

Pont-l’Évêque obtained its AOP in 1996. The protected geographical area extends across four departments of Normandy (Calvados, Eure, Manche and Orne).

In 2019, there were only five farmhouse producers left making cheese using milk from the farm’s animals. In 2021, there are now six producers of farmhouse Pont-l’Évêque: Ferme Spruytte, Ferme de la Moissonnière, Domaine de Saint-Hippolyte, Ferme Martin, Ferme de l’Oraille and Ferme de la Mondière.
